Face to Face Questions: Numbers 31:1-241. This is a fantastic passage because as we read we realize something took place a few chapters back that caused the Israelites to turn away from the Lord. (Ever get excited to know the rest of the story?) What did Moses say that was?
2. As we read, we see that God is a God of vengeance for His people. At the end of the passage the people who were “commissioned” to go and take the vengeance were told to do what?

1. In verse 15 we read, "Have you allowed all the women to live?...they were the ones who followed Balaam's advice and were teh means of the turning the Israelites away from the Lord in what happened at Peor, so that a plague struck the Lord's people..."
2. They were told to purify themselves, garments, everything. The mettle was also to be purified through fire and what could not be purified through fire had to be cleansed and purified with the water of cleansing.
