SATURDAY'S: Face to Face with God

Face To Face Questions: Numbers 14:1-45
1. Ever wanted to bless someone, or have blessed someone and all you receive back is grumbling, or complaining that it was NOT exactly what they wanted? Have you ever missed a blessing? How do you feel when you realize that you are getting ready to receive something amazing, but then you are denied because of the actions of others? In this passage that is what happened. Who were the ones who lost out on the blessing? Who received the blessing? What happened to those who decided that maybe they would now take the blessing even after it was retracted from them?
2. Do you think it is possible to continue to rebel against God continually without negative consequence? How does that consequence affect those in our lives?

1. The ones who lost were all those who grumbled. He states in verse 29, "...everyone of you 20 years old or more who was counted in the cesus and who has grumbled against me. Those who will receive the blessing: Joshua, Caleb and their families and the children of those who said would be taken in plunder.
What happened to those who decided they would now take the blessing that was "retracted"? They said they were going to go into the land. Moses warned them that the Lord would not be with them and that they would be over taken...and they were by the Amalekites and Canaanites.

2. No. It spills over on to them. Because of the grumbling, instead of being able to enter at that moment...as they stood on the threshold of the promise land, the consequence was that they ALL had to wander for 40 more years in the desert.
