MONDAY'S: Face to Face With God

FACE TO FACE QUESTIONS: 1 Samuel 15:1-29

1. This passage touches on two important characteristics and actions that God desires for us to have. What are they?

2. What did Saul do that grieved God, and that showed he did not grasp and make these two actions part of his life? What happened to Saul?

3. What does the statement, "To obey is better than sacrifice" mean to you?

THRIVE TODAY said...

1. He wants us to have a heart of obedience. A heart of trust.
2. God wanted Saul to follow His instructions, to obey, to follow, to trust His leading. But Saul did not obey. He grieved God because he did not follow the instructions that God gave him when he told him to destroy EVERYTHING. He decided to keep the king alive as well as all the best animals....to give as a sacrifice. Yet, what was more important to God was obedience.
3. What this means to me is that God wants my life....it's not important what I give, but that I give my life to HIM. In all that I do, in every action....following HIM. I can give all I want and still not give my life to HIM. How many of us do that. It is easier to give "something" and not ourselves, not our very heart. How will you walk in obedience today?
