How many of you remember the woman who poured perfume over the feet of Jesus and wiped his feet with her hair. In this passage we find who she is and who her brother is.
Lazurus was Mary’s brother. The same Mary who also sat at his feet at the beginning of this weeks readings. Why do you think Jesus wept when he finally arrived?
Here Lazurus has died…who do Martha say Jesus is as she was weeping and mourning? As we read her response in the midst of fear, loss...what can we take away and add to our own walk and life with Jesus?

In today’s society, people say that “there are many roads to God”, and that it does not matter how they “get there”. Yet, Jesus tells us something different in HIS word. What does He tell us in this passage is the ONLY way to HIM?
In this passage Jesus tells the disciples that even though he is going to Heaven, he is leaving another “counselor” to be with us. Who is that and how does that bring comfort?
